When does the season start and how long does it run?
Our regular season typically begins in early May and runs through late June, followed by tournament play for selected teams in July and August. Registration usually opens in late winter to allow time for team assignments, uniform orders, and preseason practices.
What ages can participate?
Little League programs serve boys and girls ages 4 to 16, with divisions based on age and skill level. Beckum-Stapleton offers Tee Ball for beginners and multiple upper divisions to ensure players develop safely and competitively alongside peers their own age.
Do players need prior baseball experience?
Not at all! Many of our players pick up a glove for the very first time with us. Our coaches focus on building fundamentals, confidence, and a love of the game in a fun, supportive environment.
How much does it cost to register and what does the fee include?
Registration fees vary slightly by division but generally cover uniforms, insurance, league administration, and field maintenance. We work hard to keep costs affordable and offer financial assistance to ensure that every child can play.
What equipment does my child need?
Players should have a glove, bat, cleats, and a batting helmet. The league provides shared equipment such as balls, catcher’s gear, and team batting helmets. Our Equipment & Gear Guide offers detailed sizing help and recommendations for new families.
How are teams formed?
Teams are organized by age division and neighborhood when possible. Coaches and league officials strive to create balanced teams that promote fairness, sportsmanship, and equal opportunities for all players.
Are volunteers and background checks required for coaches?
Yes. All coaches, umpires, and adult volunteers complete a mandatory background check and safety training in accordance with Little League International’s Child Protection Program. This ensures a safe, positive environment for every participant.
What is Little League’s policy on sportsmanship and conduct?
Players, coaches, and families are expected to uphold our core values of good sportsmanship, respect, and integrity. Positive support from the stands and on the field is essential to the learning experience we aim to create.
How can families stay updated during the season?
Schedules, scores, and announcements are posted on our website and in the GameChanger App, which allows parents to follow games, chat with coaches, and receive instant updates. We also send regular league emails and encourage families to follow our social pages for news and weather alerts.
