Originally, Beckum-Stapleton Little League games were played on various fields across Milwaukee’s north side, including Auer Avenue and Lincoln, Washington, and Garfield Parks. With the support of County Supervisor Clinton Rose and local leaders, the league secured a permanent home at Carver Park, creating a safe and dedicated space for youth baseball. Over the decades, the facility expanded with new diamonds, lights, dugouts, and the James W. Beckum Indoor Training Facility, opened in 2002 to support year-round player development. Today, Beckum-Stapleton Field stands as one of Milwaukee’s premier youth baseball complexes — a living testament to community pride, perseverance, and Mr. Beckum’s lasting vision.
